Ronald McDonald House New York’s Kitchens are an important element of the House that offer our families the space to create, enjoy and share meals in comfort. Our Kitchens and Dining Room were built with the intent to re-create the home environment - those places filled with warmth, food, family and friends. Over the past year, the Kitchens were renovated to feature high quality, energy-efficient appliances, beautiful cabinetry, hygienic countertops, handicapped access and ergonomic design. We demolished, designed, distributed and produced a space filled with Hope and Love, essential ingredients to nourish the soul. Home to both international and classic American cuisine, our Kitchens are a welcome respite from the harsh reality of pediatric cancer treatment.

The Chefs

As a popular contestant on Bravo TV's hit series Top Chef, Dave Martin’s endearing personality and signature culinary style of layering flavors and reinventing classics has made him a highly sought-after chef, not just with celebrities but with serious restaurateurs like Jeffrey Chodorow’s (Social) who recruited Dave to cook with his team at the Cannes Film Festival. Dave enjoys modernizing classic comfort foods with a lighter and healthier approach. His choice to pursue his love and passion for cooking and making people smile through his culinary creations paid off. He now calls New York City home and in his spare time, teaches classes at The Culinary Loft in SoHo. Dave’s New York City Restaurant Adventures have included consulting for Chow Down, Inc. (VYNL Restaurants, where his Black Truffle Mac ‘n’ Cheese remains a top seller) and as Executive Chef for Crave on 42. In addition, he has worked with and trained culinary teams at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign helping to launch the school’s new on-campus dining program. Dave’s cookbook, Flavor Quest, has just been released and is available through his website www.chefdavemartin.com.

Natural foods chef Andrea Beaman, host of Fed Up!, an organic, whole foods cooking show on the Veria TV Network, teaches people how to cook to cure physical ailments through alternative nutrition, natural healing and sustainable, green living.
